Nong Khai (Thailand)

11 March 2011:
Nong Khai is a small charming village on the north east of Thailand, situated at the border of  Laos along the Mekong river. This area has been one of the most relaxing places we've stayed in.

The garden of our guesthouse, overlooking the Mekong river and Laos.

We could stay like this all day.. in perfect harmony with the Mekong.

Dinner on a floating restaurant, behind me is Laos.

Cycling to "Sala Kaew Ku" a sculpture park.

This park has giant Buddhist sculptures, the work of a Lao artist called Luang Pu Sulilat. His body has been mummified and on display to the visitors.

Some of the sculptures are up to 25m high.

On the road again.. not looking forward to the night train.
