Chiang Mai (Thailand)

19th - 23rd March 2011:
Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city of Northern Thailand. Located among the highest mountains of the country, filled with beautiful Temples and surrounded by hill tribe villages. The old and historical city of Chiang Mai is surrounded by a medieval style wall built 700 years ago to defend against the Burmese invaders.

The wall around the old city.

Inside the old city.

One of the oldest Temple.

Thai house.

One of the most amazing street food we had.

The night market of Chiang Mai.

Trying the local sweets.

A lot of kids were playing traditional music in the street.

The fish SPA, we couldn't stop laughing. :-)

For Mourad was hard work :-)

We went to a tiger sanctuary to see the tigers, 1h from Chiang Mai.

At the local market choosing the rice for the cooking course. Each basket was a different rice.

Choosing the chili.

At the chef's house.

Preparing the filling for the spring rolls. You can notice the chef behind me ready to catch anything that flies out from the wok.
Some adventurous cooking.

My dishes: red curry in coconut milk, pad thai, sweet & sour vegetables with chicken. It was delicious :-)

His one was delicious too, green curry in coconut milk, fried rice, Sweet & sour vegetables.
